Thought & Fear

WE ARE ALWAYS LIVING WITHIN THE FEELING OF OUR THINKING.

Understanding this feeling deeply can awaken a person to having a whole new experience of life.
Many times, I have sat in stillness and allowed wisdom to bubble up from within when I have experienced anxiousness and anxiety.
A few weeks ago, while in Mexico, I found myself on an hour long boat ride in heavy seas of 5 to 7 foot swells. The boat attendants passed around bags for those that may become ill from the rough pounding ride.
At that moment I revisited one of my past experiences of having fearful, anxious thinking. That past experience was that of a severe concussion from a number of years ago that was both physically and mentally debilitating. That concussion brought on anxiety, vertigo, tinnitus, and nausea.

As the boat was pitching and rocking I began reliving my past experience of the concussion in my head which felt nauseously real.
Panic and fear crept into and over my whole body. I reached for my purse to look for my nausea medicine that I always carried while traveling.
Intense fear and anxiety came over me as I scanned my bag several times for my nausea tablet.
I had changed to a waterproof waist purse prior to the boat trip, and I had forgotten to put them into the purse. Reality hit, I had no meds!
At that point there was this thought to drop into stillness to let go and wait for a solution.
The solution finally came to me to look out and become one with the waves and horizon in order settle my thoughts of anxiety. After some time the feelings subsided.
When arriving to my destination this fear appeared again as I prepared to snorkel in a underground cave.
The guide mentioned the option to wear a wet suit because the water was cold, then warned us of the tight dark spaces that we would encounter.
A waterproof flashlight could only point down in the water because the cave was filled with nocturnal bats 🦇.
Anxiety and the unknown came to visit me again as I took in these warnings.
Once again , allowing clarity to come in and drop my thinking.
The words came “Trust the experience “.
As I did, there was a feeling of calmness that filled me as I allowed myself to drop into each and every new moment.
It was a exhilarating experience!
